Vintage 1950’s Handpainted Bird Decor Delftware Plate Holland. Wall decor.

A lovely hexagonal handpainted polychrome defltware plate made by Royal Tichelaar Makkum, Holland. This decorative plate can be used as a wall decor or as a ring trinket tray or dish. Charming vintage home wall decor. Would look lovely as an accent to a traditional home decor style. The plate is decorated with a traditional Delft style bird ornament, hand painted in the colors green, blue, ocher red and yellow. Added gold accents to edges. Most likely added at some point to camouflage some small chips on the corners. On the back side the dish has two small holes in its foot ring with thread for hanging it on a wall. The plate measures about 6 1/2 inches (17 cm) in diameter and 1 1/5” (3.0 cm) high. The dish is signed with a hand-painted Tichelaar Makkum mark.
