Vintage 1950s Jack Liebman cocktail dress

This is a vintage 1950s Jack Liebman cocktail dress with a beautiful sunflower pattern on the outer fabric and yellow under fabric with pleated bust detail. it is in good condition with one small tear on the front (as pictured) the zipper is in good shape. there is no liner so you can see the original structure of the dress and boning that creates a beautiful silhouette and adds support. it fits like a US size 2 to 4. Jack Liebman was a Montreal based fashion designer (1907-1999). the Fashion Preferred label was distributed in Canada by 1947. In 1945, Fashion Preferred was described as a brand suited to the “Canadian way of life,” featuring “tailored classics to the dressier afternoon and cocktail creations.” Liebman was noted for dresses with diagonal hipline drapery and back detailing.
