This beautiful tea pot is the Heritage tea pot by 1847 Rogers Bros, IS (International Silver). The 1847 does not indicate the age of the item, but rather, the year the company was founded. This tea pot was likely produced in the 1950's to 1960. This was one of Rogers Bros top of the line items, a product that used high-grade silver plate. The teapot is ornate floral pattern. That beautiful carved pattern is echoed on base and lid. The lid is hinged.
This is a gorgeous example of heavy silver plating. The floral design is elegant and lends a Victorian look to the tea pot. There is something special about having tea from such a beautiful container. This would look so pretty among a collection of vintage tea cups.
E.P. on Copper WMMTS 1048.
