Vintage from the 1960s. This is a beautiful vintage Denby Langley stoneware bowl in their line Arabesque or Samarkand. The bowl is made In chocolate brown in a matte glaze finish with greenish-gray and a hint of orange. This casserole dish has a geometric, modernist type of pattern designed by Gill Pemberton in England. Arabesque, initially known as Samarkand, was first produced by Denby Pottery in the early 1960's. The products were discontinued around 1984. Arabesque stoneware items are very difficult to obtain in good condition and as a result, are highly sought after. Serving dish measures approximately 7" in diameter. In excellent condition, no chips or cracks, interior is clean. Bottom is stamped "Made in England."
