Charming mid-century Christmas angel doll made in Japan, dating to around the 1960s. She has a soft cloth face with hand-painted sleepy eyes and blue eyelids, rosy cheeks and red lips, topped with bright yellow yarn hair and a shiny gold foil crown. Her body is a cozy white knit and she has sheer tulle “gossamer” wings edged in gold with tiny glittery dots.
Approximately 8 in / 20 cm tall including the crown (see photos with measuring tape). Back is marked with an oval “Japan” sticker. Unbranded, but very similar to Jestia and other mid-century Japan pixie / angel ornaments from this era.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. Face paint is crisp, wings are intact, knit body is clean. Light age wear to the crown and fabric consistent with age—please zoom photos for details. Smoke-free home.
Beautiful as a Christmas tree ornament, small tree topper, or kitschy MCM holiday shelf display.

the neck and body glue is loose. I can glue it back with hot glue or if you prefer, you can do it as well.
