A pair of vintage ethnic pendants handmade in Northern India or Nepal, dated approximately 1965–1975. The base is made of ebonite, a vulcanized rubber material commonly used in mid-20th-century South Asian jewelry. The surface is decorated with ornate bronze appliqués featuring traditional floral motifs and natural patina.
Each piece is set with a deep blue galalith (casein) or early Lucite cabochon, a warm and slightly soft early plastic material widely used in regional jewelry as an imitation stone. The cabochon shows a uniform vivid blue glow under direct light and does not react to Simichrome, confirming it is not bakelite.
The backs exhibit classic handcrafted construction: wire fasteners, rivets, and a manually soldered bronze bail. This method is typical of mid-century Kashmiri and Nepalese workshops.
The pendants have strong ethnic character, authentic vintage craftsmanship, and collectible appeal.
