Retro Deco occultist high glamour gown, from rare & collectible British designer Janice Wainright, circa 1970s. Janice Wainwright was held in high esteem by her contemporary Ossie Clark. She was the only other designer permitted to use Celia Birtwell’s printed textiles in the 1960s when we was designing for ‘Simon Massey’. Inky black silk / Rayon velvet. Feels so incredible to wear you will never want to take it off. Relaxed slinky blouson-cut. Effortless chic, extremely wearable dress. Burn-out devoré peek-a-boo geometric stripe details at plunging cowl neckline and dramatic batwing sleeves. Silk satin corded cinch waist. Silk satin trim detail on inset side pockets.
