Vintage Chinese Hand-painted Porcelain Xiqu Opera Masks in original box. The masks have not been removed from the velveteen backing. The box is covered with fabric lining. The opera mask colours represent a range of emotions and characteristics. Generally, the colours of these masks represent: Yellow - clever, secretive, mysterious, evil Green - evil spirits, brave, purposeful Red/Purple - loyalty, filial piety, age Black - impatient, straightforward, vulgar, rude Condition: Like-New.
