Vintage 70s Bone Statement Necklace

This vintage necklace comes to us from the 1970s and has a simple hook closure. The necklace is brown and off-white, and made of bone. You can tell the material is bone and not ivory by all the little round pocks (Haversian canals) and lack of crosshatch/diamond patterns (Schreger lines). It also has a lack of fissures. That's right, ya girl has been studying. I've seen this necklace labelled as buffalo bone and bison bone, but I can't confirm what kind of bone it is. The necklace has normal vintage wear, like the edge of the bead in picture 5, but no issues affecting wearability. The necklace is comfortable and has a nice weight to it.
