Vintage 70s Mod black & white leather checker board bag ❄️

Vintage 70s Mod black & white leather checker board pattern shoulder bag purse - black and white leather whipstitched together with black yarn/cord - the bag is an unstructured messenger style with a flap closure and no hardware. Approx 11 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 6", handle drop 3", shoulder strap 29" In fair vintage condition there are a couple of spots where the stitching is loose - there are no rips or tears to the leather but there are some signs of wear to a few of the white squares - a cleaning and leather treatment might take care of most of it. The strap looks like it has a few stiches in it to make it shorter, you can see where the strap is doubled up on itself. If you wanted to make the strap longer you might be able to just take out those threads - it also might have been made that way to add a litlle extra padding to the shoulder - someone with more sewing knowledge then me could make that determination (see last pic) - overall it is a very fun bag!
