Vintage African Heishi Vinyl Beaded Necklace

This vintage necklace is beaded and has a barrel clasp made of a silver tone metal. The necklace features two main materials: a brass tone metal and red/brown heishi vinyl beads, also called record beads, which are made of vulcanite or recycled vinyl records. The brass tone metal can be seen in the large ball shaped beads, as well as in some smaller spacer beads. They are a large contributing factor to the high weight of the necklace, and they have a nice, fairly even patina throughout. The heishi beads also show wear around their edges, but not in a bad way. The only thing that might affect wearability is the weight of the necklace which isn't uncomfortable but is noticeable. There is also a bit of the string/cord sticking out near the clasp (see picture 4, above the clasp) but this can be tucked back in. Based on the style and materials used, this necklace is most likely from West Africa, possible Ghana more specifically.
