Vintage African lion necklace in bone or resin

This is another of the pieces my aunt brought back from Africa, where she taught in the 60s. Like its elephant counterpart, the 18" necklace features a central lion pendant (about 2/3") and 10 other lions, interspersed with like-coloured beads. I believe it is made from bone, but it could be resin. The closure of two pieces which screw together works well, and the necklace is in great shape overall.
