This is a beautiful ceramic/porcelain tray marked Victoria Austria, likely dating to the early 1900s. It features a scalloped edge and a vivid glazed design with:
* Center medallion: A romantic pastoral scene of a lady in flowing dress with flowers.
* Side medallions: Hand-painted pink roses on soft green backgrounds.
* Ground: Striking turquoise-blue glaze with gold gilt accents.
The back bears the Victoria Austria hallmark along with a fascinating provenance note:
According to the note, the tray was once owned by a bartender named Ed Moffat, who received it in 1931 from the celebrated French-American soprano Lily Pons as a gift of thanks while she stayed in New York City. Later, Moffat passed the tray to the consignor’s mother as a gesture of kindness. This makes the tray not only a fine piece of Austrian porcelain but also a unique collectible with a direct connection to Lily Pons, one of the most famous opera singers of the 20th century.
