The Holy Grail of vintage cardigan dreams! ​This authentic vintage Prestige Originals crew neck cardigan is a timeless luxury piece from the 1950s/1960s, presented in a delicate powder pink/peach hue. Handcrafted from a beautiful, fully fashioned knit of a luxuriously soft blend of wool and angora. The stunning focal point is the incredibly intricate and delicate scroll work design entirely of white grain pearlescent beaded embroidery. This detailed work covers the chest, back, sleeve hems, and button placket. The pearlescent beads which truly catch the light adding delicate opulence to the design. The bodice is lined with an acetate lining for wearer comfort and, crucially, to protect the delicate beading and stitching on the inside. These cardigans were popular in the mid-20th century, like many high-quality beaded sweaters from this period which were hand-decorated in places like Hong Kong and then sold in premium retailers. For a piece that is 70+ years old, it is in excellent vintage condition.
