'Ben-Amun' is a 40 year old jewelry line created by style setter Isaac Manevitz of New York (and son of the jeweller to the Egyptian royal court!).
He pioneered the statement jewelry movement in the early '80's selling his wares to the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
The name Ben-Amun was inspired by the designer's eldest son, Ben, and one of the former king's of Egypt, Tutankhamun. He has brought his love of sculpture to his collections by working with some of the finest and most interesting materials to create unique designs that are both modern and contemporary, yet timeless.
Ben-Amun jewelry is consistently featured on the style-dictating pages of Vogue, Harper’s BAZAAR, Vanity Fair, ELLE, GLAMOUR, W and PORTER magazines.
This necklace is beautifully made of 1 34" long twisted rope style silver metal chain and a circular pewter pendant 92" across) with a wooden cabuchon in the centre.
Signed on the back 'BEN AMUN".
This is a rare early piece dating to the '80's.
40 years old but has a timeless modernist feel.
In excellent condition.
Paired with a fun Mongolian 4" x 3.5" leather jewellery box. Also, in excellent condition.
