Vintage Birks '79-80 GF Rotary International Pin

This pin by Birks is gold filled and has a modern locking c pin closure. The upper section of the pin is shaped like a bow and the lower ribbon ends are marked 79 and 80 for the years. The bottom of the bow has a dangling blue enamel Rotary International gear that is stamped STER on the back. The back of the ribbon is stamped GOLDFILLED with the Birks maker mark (B inside a hexagon). Pictures 5 and 6 are brightened to show the stamps. The pin has normal wear, but no issues affecting wearability. The pin belonged to my late grandfather, who was a proud Rotarian for decades. I don't know if this pin was given to certain ranks or certain members, and I don't have much more info about this piece.
