Elegant vintage black top hat. The era was mid to late 1800’s. Made by R. J. Devlin Co. Ltd in Ottawa. A popular store that eventually became Hudson’s Bay.
This top hat is made of silk woven into a long, soft nap. Inside is a silk lining with a leather sweatband.
Size 6 7/8 , which is quite small but they were meant to sit quite high on the head.
