Vintage English teapot by Gibsons of England. This "Brown Betty" teapot is made of red clay, glaze and then hand painted a dark blue with gold detailing. A lovely gold gilded spout and handle. Brown Betty teapots are made of red clay, which is known to keep liquid warm for longer. Brown Betty teapots were very popular during the Victorian Era, especially in England, where they were manufactured. They regained popularity during the 1950s and 60s. This Gibsons Brown Betty is circa 1950-1960s and made in England.
