Brass 6” long cutter, weight 56 grams. Used for pastry and to seal chapati. Some scratches. Vintage Made in India The word chapat (Hindi: चपत) means "slap" or "flat" which describes the traditional method of forming rounds of thin dough by slapping the dough between the wetted palms of the hands. With each slap, the round of dough is rotated. Chapati is noted 15th century in the Guru Granth Sahib as Roti.
