This vintage brooch by Butler is made of gold tone metal and has a modern locking c pin closure. The brooch is large and shaped like a dolphin with blue rhinestone eyes. With the size and curvature of this piece, you can see that it is mean to be worn on the shoulder. This piece is signed Butler on the underside of the tail but is quite difficult to read. The maker was identified by comparing the maker's mark (and the piece as a whole) to a number of similar pieces by various makers. Despite the illegibility of the mark, I'm confident it is identified correctly. There is some minor wear throughout, and some visible tone loss on the interior of the dolphin's body, but nothing that affects wearability.
