Vintage Ceramic Vessel with Hole and Cone Bottom
No markings. Unsigned.
I found it years ago in a Mennonite and Amish farming community in Ontario, Canada.
It has been suggested to me that it is a bulb planting tool, a dibbler of some sort?
Maybe you fill the top with seeds and use the pointy part to dig a hole for the seeds?
It does not seem to have wear besides crazing so I don't think it was used in the ground.
Could be an art piece from a pottery class.
It also could be a wall pocket vase.
A holder for fireplace matches?
It has a hole so could be hung up on a wall.
It appears to be handcrafted and has crazing and yellowing to the glaze which suggests age.
Any help identifying what it is would be greatly appreciated so feel welcome to leave a comment if you have an idea. Thanks!
