Vintage Chinese Bamboo root carving of the Bodhidharma, Zen Buddhism portrait

...hand carved wall hanging decor A very lively vintage hand carved lotus root in the likeness of the Bodhidharma. He does however, not appear very Zen, and it could be a representation of a Japanese Daruma (screaming as they are on Fire, they get burned in a ritual every year) or a demon or spirit. It is likely to be Chinese in origin, and it has a flat back so it can hang on the wall. The hair and beard are formed from the natural lotus root and not applied later Condition: with a few scuffs to the face, and a split to the base, overall it is in very nice condition. Size: 18 inches tall (46 cm)
