Vintage Chinese Plique A Jour Cloisonne Transparent Enamel Mandarin Ducks

Vintage Chinese Plique-a-Jour Cloisonné Enamel Mandarin Duck Figurines, circa 1910. Made with the technique of Plique-a-jour (translates to "letting in daylight" in French), this stunning pair has a copper base and features colorful patterns on a background of fish scale wire. The miniature compartments “cells" were filled with enamels of various colors to carry out the design with precision while letting light shine through. These measure approx 2 3/4" tall x roughly 2" wide. In good antique condition, no evident damage or breaks to gilt. These pieces are rare, beautiful, and look breathtaking displayed on a shelf or console table, with some sunlight beaming on them.
