Vintage Cowichan West Coast Deer Chunky Wool Zip Sweater by Canadian Sweater Co

Hand-spun and hand knit by Canadian crafts persons using undyed wools. Historical West Coast Deer design, hand knit on circular needles for seamless construction, set-in sleeves, shawl collar, 2 straight pockets, and a heavy duty zipper. I do find that compared to other vintage Cowichan sweaters, this one is not as scratchy/rough on the skin. It feels like wool, but does feel a bit better as it is softer than other vintage Cowichan sweaters. The Canadian Sweater Co LTD still sells new Cowichan sweaters today for nearly $600 a sweater. This sweater is made of natural undyed wools that are hand spin giving the yarn a slight twist which makes it very long wearing and stills keeps the softness. The yarns being free of any chemicals or dyes keeps more of the natural oils in the wools and thus helps to repel water during raining conditions. Colours: dark brown, cream, grey, silver-tone zipper Made in Canada Preloved with no holes, stains, or shrinkage. Some light fuzziness noted just due to the nature of the yarn. Fits size L or XL women’s, or a size M women’s for an oversized fit. Measurements (approximate, laid flat): pit to pit 22”
