Vintage Custom Made Harris Tweed Blazer Brown Fleck Men’s 40R 42R

This is a custom designed jacket made for Ed Laird of Windsor, Ontario in the 1960s. As it was made just for him, there is no size tag. In fact, he may have even made it for himself. Based on measurements, it is likely a men’s 40R or 42R. After doing a bit of research, I found the following information: In the 1960s, there were several established stores in Windsor, including one associated with men's and women's fashion, but references to "Ed Laird" generally appear to be more connected with a personal name, Ed Laird was likely as a custom tailor or in a managerial or ownership role at one of the fashion-focused department stores in Windsor, Ontario in the 1960s. The jacket looks as if it was never worn and even has the original tweed tag still in the pocket. This is a one-of-kind, truly vintage, rare piece.
