CLEVELAND, O. U.S.A. The E.O. Brody Company was founded in 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio by Ernest Oscar Brody. He was known as EO in the florists' trade. His innovative idea was to sell utility glass floral containers exclusively to florists. His company produced vases, bowls and flower pots exclusively for sale to the floral industry. A large volume of these items were milk glass and green glass pieces. They also sold brown and red glass. E.O. Brody glass pieces are clearly marked on the bottom and have become collectable items. Ernest Oscar Brody (1924-2004) passed away on 12-Jan-2004 after spending nearly a lifetime in the floral industry. He began working at a florist shop at age 7, sweeping floors and picking up scraps of flowers. The young entrepreneur would salvage whatever flowers he could, then make up corsages to peddle at various restaurants and clubs. He founded the E.O.
