Vintage muskrat coat, at least I’m pretty sure it’s muskrat. I did a ton of research so if you know it’s another type of fur please let me know! Lovely dark and light chocolate brown with really dark brown stripe to the fur. Very soft and smooth when you stroke it downward. Mid calf length. Three loop button closure and one hook closure. Two Pockets at front on either side. Shawl like collar. Rolled cuff with satin lining that is elasticized at the cuff to prevent wind from getting up your sleeve. Brown satin lining. I don’t know how this was stored as I’m selling it for someone else who doesn’t know either. It’s not shedding. It’s in great condition for its age! There are a few flaws as seen in the last three photos. The back of the collar has split slightly but could be mended. Personally I wouldn’t even go that far! And there is a small bald spot on the inside of one sleeve which is unnoticeable when worn. Measurements:~ Med -Lg 22” armpit to armpit lying flat 43” length 26” sleeve length 25” hips lying flat Smoke free home 🏡

lynn_robison @laurahansen64 no problem! I grew up in an area and a time when fur coats were very common 👍🏻

laurahansen64 @lynn_robison Just took a look at vintage furs.com and it could also be mahogany mink. So now I don’t know which to call it. Oh, well. My pricing is bang on! Lol

kjhymme @laurahansen64 I literally just bought an almost identical coat from a vintage store. Same style same brand just different button and lining… I brought it to a furrier and she said it’s muskrat and not mink.

kjhymme @laurahansen64 it’s my pleasure! I saw this posting after I started researching and I can’t believe it’s really almost identical and they are from the 50’s??? The one I got is a fantastic shape that the furrier said I don’t need to get it cleaned. I’m still probably going to do just because I really don’t know where it came from. The cleaning free is more than I paid for the coat 🤣🤣🤣

laurahansen64 @kjhymme I bet cleaning is expensive. Enjoy your new coat. 😊
