By the early 19th century, the demand was so high that HBC began ordering blankets from various English weaving companies in Yorkshire including Wormalds and Walkers. In 1982 Hainsworth purchased Wormalds and Walkers, and agreed to be the new custodians and manufacturers of the blanket in order to preserve its existing quality, make, fibre selection and wool sourcing.
