Vintage Fedoskino lacquer box

Made by artisans trained in one of 4, traditional, Russian schools specifically specializing in this type of maché, laquer box. Each box is made from papier maché, then layered with coat after coat of shiny laquer, customized with a jamd-painted, miniature scene from a symbolic Russian vista and signed by the artist with it's location of creation. This particular box was crafted in the village school of Fedoskino and has a red interior and has been inlaid with a gold border and mother of pearl background, making it of particular, collectible interest! Price is respectfully fixed due to it's value and beauty!
