Vintage Fenton opalescent hobnail dress shoe, pearlescent cat head glass slipper

...ornament A vintage pressed glass shoe ornament by Fenton, but unmarked. The front of the shoe shows as a leopard head. The coloration with opalescent areas to the front (the colour not unlike moonstone in blue and yellow), and clear for the rest of the shoe. It is in great condition! It seems these shoes had many purposes throughout history. They were used as drinking vessels in the 17th and 18th centuries, and then salt containers in the 19th century. Today, you can find many uses for these beauties, including vanity storage (hair pins, hair ties) or as a card holder. Size: 5-3/4 inches long x 2-3/4 inches high (14.5 x 7 cm)
