Vintage Front Hinge Cut Out Bracelet

This vintage bracelet is made of a silver tone metal and has a unique pop-open hinge in the front, beneath the rectangular center accent. The bracelet has wide sides with decorative cut-outs and the interior is stamped "PAT. 1994826" as well as an R inside a square. The patent, filed in 1935 (and expired in 1952), refers to "C-spring-type bracelets or wrist-watch holders" for "wing-type" pieces. This type of bracelet is often referred to as a "clamper" bracelet. The bracelet has wear throughout, especially on the highest point of the front. Based on the patent expiration, this bracelet was likely made pre-1952. Despite the wear in appearance, the opening functions without issue and the bracelet is comfortable to wear.
