Vintage Goldtone Cat and Mouse Brooch

Elegant gold coloured cat brooch with dangling mouse on a little chain. Perfect for cat lovers. Initials on the back are from a company called JJ Jonette: J Jonette Jewelry is a brand known for its costume jewelry, and its history spans several decades. The company was founded by Abraham Lisker in 1935 as Providence Jewelry Company. Later, when his brother Nathan joined, it became Lisker & Lisker. After a period of production cessation during WWII, the company was renamed Jonette Jewelry in honor of the brothers' parents, John and Etta. The company's distinct "JJ" trademark was used on all pieces from the 1970s onwards. Jonette Jewelry produced collectible costume jewelry for over 60 years, ending production in 2008 due to market conditions.
