Pleated plaid schoolgirl skirt in blue and yellow. It's vintage from the late 70s but in beautiful condition considering its age. It was sold at Ogilvy's,a high-end store in Montreal. The Gor-Ray Company was established in the 1920s as a manufacturer of top-quality skirts and trousers, specialising in pleated, classically tailored skirts. Originally C. Stillitz & Co., the name was changed to Gor-Ray Ltd in the early 1930s following the success of its leading product, a gored, sunray-pleated skirt. The founder of the company designed skits that would keep their pleats permanently instead of maintaining them by steaming.
It's fully lined and made of a viscose trevira blend. The fabric blend and the quality of the craftmaship mean this skirt hardly looks old and will last many years to come. It features a side zip closure with a button. No size tags but the flat measurements in inches below suggest it is a size XS.
