Vintage Hakone Marquetry Hexagonal Dust or Garbage Bin made in Japan

The traditional Japanese art form of Hakone Marquetry is used to create this beautiful dust or garbage bin. The woodworkers carefully cut and glue the wood pieces together to form geometric shapes and patterns. The woodworkers use a traditional technique called "zuku-tsukuri" to shave ultra-thin sheets of wood which covers the exterior of the dust bin.
