Made by NONIA, the Newfoundland Outport Nursing and Industrial Association, a not-for-profit organization with a long history of creating handmade goods in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The organization was founded in 1920 to help provide nursing care in rural communities, with funds for nurses' salaries being raised through the sale of knitted goods made by local women. Today, NONIA continues as a cottage industry, with approximately 140 knitters across the province creating hand-knit sweaters, hats, mitts, and other wool items. The organization is known for its high-quality, durable, and traditional designs. Size small.
