Vintage Handmade Quilt "Dresden Plate"

There is a lovely patina and softness to this "Dresden Plate" quilt made 40 years ago. Individual petals were cut from leftover cotton fabrics I used to make my daughters' dresses. The blocks were hand pieced and appliquéd onto muslin. I added borders and embroideries to the center petals. A sewing bee quilted the quilt on a traditional frame. It has been washed a few times to keep it fresh and stored in a wicker trunk ( no one slept under it) occasionally stepping out for a show and tell. Cotton batting. Double bed size 56" x 65"
