Vintage Holly Silver Plated Jewelry Box Made in Occupied Japan

This is a very interesting metal jewelry box. It has amazing imagery of a ship on the top which beautifully pops out and just catches your eye. The inside is a rather standard setup of boxes of the time, featuring red padding and lining underneath. Under the top, the word "Fashion" is printed. As you can see by the photos, this has been used, noting the discolouration on the fabrics. There are some scratches and showing of age. Most notably though, unfortunately, the hinge that attaches the top to the body is broken. The top can still be set into place though without any interference.
