Vintage In Murano Style Sommerso glass centerpiece, Italy 1960s

Murano Style Glass centerpiece produced in the 1960s in Italy. "Sommerso" (Italian for ’’submerged’’) is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly caused by a clear layer. Thick and extremely decorative. Colours: red and clear. Dimensions: height: 9 cm; width: 27.5 cm; depth: 18 cm. Excellent vintage condition with one minor wear mark on inside of bowl. see pictures
