Vintage Indian Brass Cricket Box

A vintage -likely 1950s- brass cricket box made in India that is also suitable as an incense burner or a unique trinket box. Believe it or not, people kept crickets in cages such as this. Initially it was so they could hear the cricket's song but later people started keeping them for cricket fights. Personally if I ever find myself in a bar at 3AM watching 2 crickets fight I hope I'll decide that I've hit rock bottom and change my life. The brass is unpolished and there is some wear on the hinge. The box is 1 5/8" tall and just under 2 3/4' in both directions.
