Vintage Japanese Damascene 24K curved cigarette case, fishing village

...overlooking Mount Fuji card case A Japanese made Oxidized steel metal card case, the front decorated in 24K gold and silver inlay, creating an idyllic landscape scene of a fishing village overlooking Mount Fuji. There are birds and a plume of smoke over the mountain. The houses are flanked by trees and a Shinto gate (Torii). The case back and insides are a matt black with brass coloured edging, elasticated strap and closure. The body is slightly curved and the case is large enough to carry business cards. Condition: The case does not close well or securely. The button to hold the case closed feels loose and may be worn or dislocated. It holds in place sometimes, at other times it simply shoots open. Please be aware of this before purchasing. The elasticated strap currently looks good, but will have lost most of its stretch. Pull it too far and it will not snap back. The front with rubbing marks around the decoration where the black seems more glossy. Size: 5 x 3-1/4 x 3/8 inches (12.7 x 8.3 x 1 cm)
