This exquisite vintage Japanese ginger jar by Shibata Toki features a finely detailed kiku (chrysanthemum) motif in rich tones of red, pink, and blue, highlighted with extensive gold trim. The central red chrysanthemum is outlined in gold, flanked by a soft pink bloom and a smaller blue blossom. Above, delicately painted birds in flight—with yellow bodies, blue and yellow wings, and touches of pink—bring motion and grace to the scene. Set against a cream crackle-glaze background, the artwork exudes the refined aesthetics of Japanese mid-20th-century porcelain.
