Vintage Japanese lacquerware music box plays “where do I begin / Love Story”

A sweet rectangular music box in black, inlaid with little pieces of shell, with a hand painted image of a carriage, flowers and foliage to the lid. It stands on 4 little feet with a paper label underneath, next to the winding key for the music box. The inside with a mirror inside the lid, and the lining in a red felt. The music box is covered by a little lacquered lid. It works well and plays “Where do I begin – Love Story”. ca 1960-1970s Size in cm: 20 x 9 x 7 cm size in inches: 7-3/4 x 3.5 x 2-3/4 inches. Condition: with some marks of age and use, particularly around corners and edges. With some discolouration to the material to the sides and back.
