This is a set of 3 vintage midcentury Sierra Stoneware canister jars with lids. Excellent on the counter or the pantry, they were made in Japan and imported by the National Silver Company. Each ceramic container is eggshell white with stippled bands of brown and grey. The lids have small side arms that slide under an integrated flange of the oval shaped opening to keep the lids secure. The jars are notable because they are very thin ceramic and typically didn't survive. A set of three is something as well.
The set includes;
One (1) Large Canister, 8 1/2" tall with lid and 6" in diameter across the widest point.
One (1) Medium Canister, 7 1/2" tall with lid and 5" in diameter across the widest point.
One (1) Small Canister, 6 1/2" tall with lid and 4" in diameter across the widest point.
Most of the exteriors seem to have minor discoloration which is actually caused by some crazing. Minor counter wear on the bottoms. The smallest one has a hairline fracture but as of yet has not affected its stability.
These are vintage items and is used. Price reflects the expected wear and tear for their age.
