Vintage KIGU Chérie Mirror Compact, Petit Point Floral, Made in England

A vintage gold toned heart shaped loose powder compact by KIGU, made in England, brought to the market in 1956. The lid has been decorated with petit point florals on fabric, underneath a protective celluloid front. The piece is nicely engine engraved on the borders, back and inside. Marked for Chérie, Patented, Made in England inside the mirror lid. The protective lid to the powder well closes on a slider, and is wonderfully engine engraved decorated with the KIGU logo. Perfect for everyday use, or to add to a growing collection. Condition: The mirror with some cloudiness and a dark age related spot, with the original powder sifter screen broken, as pictured. The outside with marks of age and use, and some scratches and bumpiness to the plastic, but the fabric cross stitching underneath looks clean and bright. The compact opens and closes well.
