Vintage Kutani Porcelain Lithophane 3 piece set Japanese Kutani very fine porcelain teacup, saucer, and plate set with beautiful landscape hand painted in silver gilt. The amazing and unique footed teacup is eggshell porcelain, very thin and see through. There is a right facing Geisha portrait outlined in silver gilt at the bottom of the cup. When held to the light the beautiful image appears. So stunning!😍 Cup 4 1/2” wide with handle and 2” tall. Saucer 5 1/2” diameter Plate 7 1/8” diameter All pieces ring true, but especially the cup! The saucer and plate are stamped “Kutani (Mount Fuji) Handpainted Japan” No chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. Does have some gilt manufacturing flaws from brushstrokes, missing in places and added by mistake in others, as shown. Very gently pre-loved condition. No real signs of use that I can see. Smoke free, cat friendly home. This is set one. Can combine with second set for a discount.
