Vintage La Jeunesse Exotic Rare Karung Lizard Skin Envelope Clutch Purse

This vintage belonged to my dear friend’s mother. It’s in fabulous condition. The bag is covered by the skins of the karung lizard, an exotic reptile that, in fact, Judith Leiber preferred. The scales of the karung lizard vary from very small to somewhat larger. On this purse, the scales are smaller. The skins are dyed so that the bag appears to be a mocha coffee color. What draws attention is the rectangular enamel clasp with marcasite glistening on the edges.
