Iconic Canadian Brand Laura Secord vintage cookie jar. White ceramic, brown lettering with a sealed lid. in very good condition. There is a small chip inside the lid, shown in pictures. Some history of Laura Secord- In June 1813, Laura Secord trekked 20 miles through countryside and swamp to warn the British of an American attack. With her advance notice, native warriors and British officers captured the entire force, marking the downturn of the American invasion of Upper Canada. In 1913, Frank P. O’Connor opened a small candy store in Toronto where he sold hand-made chocolates. He named his store after Laura Secord, the Canadian heroine who was a symbol of courage, devotion, and loyalty.
