Vintage Lucite Abalone Brooch

This exquisite brooch showcases a harmonious blend of gold and silver tones. Flakes of silver and abalone shell are encased in lucite like a pretty cake held by a frilled gold-tone setting. It’s an unusual brooch reminiscent of agar jellied dishes that were once the rage of mid-century haute cuisine. This piece would be a standout on ivory brocade as much as a denim jacket. As a note, I include a stopper with all my brooches to slide along the pin back after fastening to clothing as to prevent loss if the pin opens whilst wearing. Box not included.
