This vintage necklace is beaded and has a fishhook clasp made of a silver tone metal. The necklace is strung with 3 main types of beads: glass pearls, gold tone metal spacers, and lucite moonglow beads. There are 2 types of glass pearls: small spherical, and grape-shaped. While both are glass, they have different lustrous coatings with slightly different tones for visual contrast. The metal spacer beads are disc-shaped and either a light gold tone or a darker brassy tone. The lucite beads come in 2 shapes: large round (like the center bead), or small spherical (like the beads 2 over from the center bead). The glass pearls glow under UV light, the lucite beads do not. If you look closely you should be able to see that the lucite beads have a colourful iridescent quality with a cloudy moonglow interior and sub-surface cracks.
The necklace has normal wear throughout, most visible as tone darkening in the metal clasp and the metal spacer beads, but there are no issues affecting wearability. There do not appear to be any heads that are cracked, chipped, or otherwise broken. Although these are not real pearls, this might be the most beautiful pearl necklace I have.
There are no hallmarks or stamps indicating maker or country of origin, but the era and quality of the construction suggests Japan or West Germany.
