Vintage MCM Birks Alligator Purse

Vintage alligator handbag by Birks. Authentic piece, made in France, circa midcentury. Brown alligator leather outside which looks to be real, not embossed; it is leather and fabric inside. All brass hardware (quality rivets) and real brass tone closure. A zippered pocket inside. Also alligator leather covered handle. No major flaws. Minor signs of wear as pictured throughout. Some scuffing on closure. Truly classic and timeless style with that old money vibe. These are rare! I tried to research to learn more only to discover pieces such as this are indeed few and far between! Please note: although it looks to be real, I cannot be sure it's not a very high quality embossing and I would expect Birks, especially for a vintage piece, to use the real deal.
